What is Tech Team
Tech Team is a hands-on backstage program for incoming 6th–8th graders who want to learn how theatre works behind the scenes. Members of the Tech Team support our Arts Festival performances by helping manage props, run basic lighting and sound cues, coordinate scene transitions, and maintain clear backstage flow.
This program is ideal for students who like solving problems, working with tools and equipment, or being part of theatre in a non-performing role.
What Students Learn
Tech Team members receive guided instruction from experienced technicians and production mentors in:

Lighting operation (including spotlight and cue execution)

Sound setup and microphone workflow

Props management and scene change coordination

Backstage traffic and quiet communication systems

Basic stage safety and equipment handling

Working as a cohesive show crew
Students learn how to stay calm, focused, and efficient during live performances.
