Morning Mentors Service Program
(and see below for the Mini Mentors Training Workshop - new for 2025!)

Welcome to the Morning Mentors Service Program!
Are you a high school student gearing up for Spotlight, Production Team, or Showcase workshop? Do you love sharing your passion of theater with others? Have you always wanted to try your skills at directing and working with younger students? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you – become a Morning Mentor!

In this volunteer program you’ll take charge of a segment of the Arts Festival workshop, where you'll work with small groups of students in grades 1-6. As a Morning Mentor (or “m&m”) you’ll work in pairs as you direct teams of 15-20 students in short productions to be performed at Arts Festival. You and your fellow mentor will lead daily Circle and Performance Groups, teaching games, activities, and rehearsals. The Arts Festival staff will provide support, resources, and direction as you build your facilitating and leadership skills.

Become a Morning Mentor and join us in shaping the lives of aspiring young artists! Mentor applications open on February 14. Click the link below or on the Forms & Policies page at www.ctekids.org.

Introducing the 2025 Mini Mentors Training Workshop
Are you a middle school student who wants to learn to work with younger Arts Festival students, but you’re not sure where to start? Do you want to develop skills working with a group? Do you dream of joining the Morning Mentors program when you’re in high school?
Starting new this year, CTE is thrilled to introduce the Mini Mentors Training Workshop!
The Mini Mentors Training Workshop is a new leadership development program designed for middle school students and inspired by the Morning Mentors Service Program. Mini Mentors will receive hands-on training for the skills needed to join the Morning Mentors program once in high school. You’ll participate in a daily Performance Group by assisting the Morning Mentors, play games with Arts Festival students, and participate in a separate, intensive Circle Group focused on team building and facilitation skills.
Don’t miss out on the chance to join the first year of this new program!
