Summer Youth Arts Festival
What is Arts Festival?

Our CTE Arts Festival is a summer theatre camp in Olympia where students explore music, dance, acting, and visual art in a supportive, high-energy environment. Every participant learns core performing arts skills and takes part in a final performance onstage.

Each day, students are lead by CTE Mentors—older students who once participated in CTE themselves and are now growing into leadership and teaching roles. Each mentor guides a small group of about ten students through a daily rotation that includes:

-
Music and vocal lessons
-
Dance and movement training
-
Acting, character work, and stage presence
-
Visual art and creative expression

These sessions are taught by by professional instructors and educators, ensuring a high-quality and engaging learning experience.
Professional instructors work alongside mentors to ensure high-quality learning and age-appropriate guidance.
The program culminates in two live performances at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts, giving students the chance to perform on a professional stage and showcase what they’ve learned.
Students gain more than performance skills—they build confidence, teamwork, and social connection in a welcoming community where every voice is valued.
