Kristina Cummins is excited to step into the role of Program Director for Creative Theatre Experience. She has been a theatre educator for the past 22 years; the last 16 at Capital High School. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts from California State University, Fullerton in 1995 and earned her Master's in Teaching from Saint Martin's University in 2001. In addition to her involvement in Capital's theatre program, she served as Co-Chapter Director of the Washington State Thespians for 8 years and continues to serve as the S Region Director and Advocacy Chair.
Kristina is passionate about theatre education and would love to see students have access to rich theatre programming starting as early as elementary school. Kristina was inducted into the WA State Thespians Hall of Fame in 2023 and received the Washington State National Federation of High Schools Outstanding Theatre Educator Award in 2021-22. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching movies, putting together puzzles, spending time with her family, and everything theatre.
