Katelyn May
CTE After School Program Director
Arts Festival Musical Director
Katelyn is no stranger to teaching theater to elementary school children... we're excited to have her as part of our team!
Katelyn's Story
Katelyn May has been immersed in the world of theatre for nearly 30 years. Her love for the stage began at just four years old and has only deepened with time, shaping both her artistic voice and her commitment to sharing that passion with others. She has performed extensively throughout the Puget Sound region, with notable work in Tacoma, Olympia, and Seattle.

For the past decade, Katelyn has also been dedicated to theatre education. She has taught camps and classes for students of all ages across many local theatres and has directed young performers in both plays and musicals. In addition to theatre, she teaches ballet and jazz at Inspired to Move Dance Academy in Lacey, bringing movement, discipline, and creativity together in her instruction.

Teaching and education have always been at the heart of Katelyn’s work. She holds an Early Childhood Education certificate and a Bachelor’s degree in English for Secondary Education. From 2012 to 2023, she taught Early Childhood Education and has worked in multiple public and private schools in both classroom and administrative roles. Katelyn is committed to continuing her education as she looks ahead to serving students with even greater depth, care, and expertise.

In addition to running Arts Festival, Katelyn is part of CTE's after school program staff, specializing in movement and dance.

Some of Katelyn’s favorite roles include Lala Levy in The Last Night of Ballyhoo (TLT), Nora in A Doll’s House (New Muses), Julie in Miss Julie (New Muses), Dale Prist in Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche (TAO), and Emilie in The Moors (SPSCC). These diverse roles reflect her range as a performer and her love of challenging, character-driven work.
